Singapore has the famous Raffles Hotel, Sentosa Island, Orchard Road, and Marina Bay Sands. But did you know that there are also many SBE alumni living/working in Singapore? Our graduates adventure to this island to seek employment in the dynamic financial district or perhaps follow a true love that they met during their exchange programme.
In March, the SBE alumni office teamed up with several international business schools who are members of the IBSNetwork to host a networking event in Singapore. The alumni were inspired by Professor Rowena Barrett who provided a lecture on “Innovation, Resilience and Sustainability”. Professor Barrett is one of the leads of the QUT Entrepreneurship initiative including the recently completed Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp delivered jointly with MIT. And there was plenty of time for exchanging ideas and networking.
Our alumni were welcomed by Jorg de Vette, Director Centre for Student Development & Business Relations, and Lyan Ploumen, Director International Relations, who were in Singapore for the EAIE conference.
“It is great to be able to offer our SBE alumni abroad a unique opportunity to network with peers and reminisce about their study period in Maastricht” says Leann Poeth-Chervenic, SBE Alumni Officer.
