On 8 September, American citizen activist Erin Schrode will hold a lecture at Maastricht University entitled “The Youth Revolution: Transforming Passion into Leadership.” The lecture is part of the Ambassador Lecture Series. The lecture is open to the public.
Young people can and are revolutionising fields from education to business, media to technology. The next generation is using non-profits in ways we have never envisioned: changing the word with startups, taking the digital to new heights… Yet where do you get started? This is the focus of Schrode’s lecture.
Having co-founded an environmental non-profit at age 13, Schrode has consulted countless multinational enterprises (such as Apple, The Coca-Cola Company and Nestlé to name a few) about millennials and sustainability, led education projects in Haiti post-earthquake and put together a peace-building environmental curriculum with Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian youth, making history in the process. This year, Erin launched an unprecedented campaign for US Congress as a 25-year-old woman and was the youngest person ever to do so.
When: 8 September at 7 pm
Where: Lecture Hall of the UM School of Business and Economics (SBE), Tongersestraat 53
