Last month, thesis awards of 2,0000 euro were presented to students who had written a thesis on an Internet-related topic. Among the winners was Katharina Schmitz, PhD candidate at SBE, whose thesis examined the appeal of interactive pension planners. Schmitz was given her award by Pim van der Feltz,CEO Google Benelux.
Prizes were awarded in the areas of Internet and the Economy, Internet and Rights, Internet and Society, and Internet and Technical Sciences. The awards were provided by Google, Brinkhof, SIDN and Greenhost.
Present at the ceremony was Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, who spoke to a packed auditorium with Rinnooy Kan, chairman of the KHMW (the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences), and Arnold Roosendaal of TNO.
