Jorn Spiertz and Mark Bastiaanssen–entrepreneurs and SBE alumni–have been selected from a large pool of applicants to participate in the Lisbon Challenge, an ambitious international accelerator programme for tech startups.
Spiertz and Bastiaanssen are the founders of PakketMail, a shipping solution for webshop owners. They met during their Master studies in International Business at SBE (Entrepreneurship & SME Management track). During his studies, Bastiaanssen was running a webshop and experienced the hassle of shipping goods firsthand. Spiertz was connected to people in logistics.
Together they set out to change and simplify shipping logistics for online businesses and SMEs. The PakketMail software solution saves webshop owners minutes per shipment by, among other services, automatically generating shipment labels and automatically sending track and trace emails. Webshops can also benefit from PakketMail’s shipping contracts with various renowned carriers and save on their national and international shipping rates.
Many hundreds of startups have applied for one of the few available spots in the programme, which will start by the end of this month. After various selection rounds, twelve startups have been announced. Among the selected startups are companies coming from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Portugal and Brazil.
