Former SBE professor, Clemens Kool, named Deputy Director of the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis

Prof. Clemens J. M. Kool—professor of money, credit and banking at SBE from 1991 to 2003—has been appointed Deputy Director of the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB). He will begin his new role on 1 March, 2015.

ClemensKoolBefore coming to SBE in 1991, Kool, worked as a senior economist of De Nederlandsche Bank. Since 2003 he has taught at the Utrecht University School of Economics (USE), which he will continue to do while working with CPB.

Kool joins two other members of the CPB board, SBE alum Bas ter Weel (Deputy Director) and Laura van Geest (Director). Ter Weel is delighted to have Kool complete the board. “We are very happy that Prof. Kool will join us,” he says. “His macroeconomic expertise as well as his managerial experience will be very useful to the CPB. We look forward to his contribution to our policy work.”
