Celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Maastricht University School of Business and Economics kicked off on 5 September at Bruis Festival. We found ourselves among co-workers, alumni and their partners, and residents of Maastricht to celebrate the university’s strong connection with the city.
The celebration made it possible for Bruis Festival to extend from two to three days, and this extension was intended to strengthen the connection and relationship between the university and the city of Maastricht. To involve the city’s residents in the anniversary, the university had put out an advertorial in Ster to thank the city and welcome residents to celebrate the kickoff together at Bruis Festival. Among the bands that played on the opening day were Coasts, Francois and the Atlas Mountain, and the Bombay Bicycle Club.
The atmosphere on the opening day of the festival was relaxed, and the crowd was very mixed. Everyone–young and old, students and residents–blended very well. The pictures will give you a great overview of what you either experienced or missed out on last Friday night. Happy anniversary SBE!
