The biggest entrepreneurship conference in Limburg is opening its doors again for its sixth edition in Maastricht on 14-16 May. An initiative from the Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship, the Maastricht Week of Entrepreneurship (MeWeek) is inviting successful entrepreneurs who made their mark in the world to share the lessons they learned along the way and inspire young students and professionals to start their own entrepreneurial journey. The Maastricht Week will start on 14 May and invites young entrepreneurs to the official opening ceremony at the Town Hall. The City of Maastricht has given its support to this event for its importance for both the region and the success of local entrepreneurs.
Under the theme “Superheroes”, MeWeek’14 will bring our modern world heroes who made a substantial impact and achieved outstanding results. Through workshops, panel discussions and talks, the programme will stimulate entrepreneurship, encourage collaborations and also give a stage for tomorrow’s superheroes. The programme will feature a pitch competition of 30 early stage innovative startups joining from the Netherlands and neighbouring countries in the race to win investors’ attention and the first place as the most feasible early stage startup.
The speakers list features Kyle MacDonald, the entrepreneur who successfully traded a red paperclip all the way up to owning a house'; Marc Kohlbrugge, founder of Betalist; and Fadi Bishara, founder of Blackbox incubator from Silicon Valley. Companies joining include Google, Dropbox, Deloitte and LIOF.
This event aims at not only inspiring young entrepreneurs to make a difference but also at connecting young talents to work together and create valuable ventures. Workshops will focus on skills building while Evening Talks and networking will allow participants to share ideas and expand their network. With five successful editions behind, MeWeek looks forward to inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and raising more awareness about the importance of creating successful, scalable ventures.
