Startup Pirates and Service Boulevard support young innovators

The Maastricht Centre for Entrepreneurship, Chemelot Campus and LIOF introduce Startup Pirates for Innovators and the Service Boulevard. The launch of these regional initiatives brings young innovators together in a new collaborative platform in Limburg in an inspirational and supportive setting.

The final Pitch Competition for Startup Pirates will be held at Chemelot Campus on the 31st of January and will feature the launch of the Service Boulevard, a platform meant to connect service providers in the fields of Materials & Life Sciences. The platform will be launched by Jos Schneiders, Chairman of the Limburg Economic Development (LED).

The event is open to entrepreneurs and innovators from the Limburg region and is meant to create stronger ties between the industry, the academic environment and the decision makers of the region.

About Startup Pirates

Startup Pirates is an accelerator programme for young entrepreneurs. A group of 30 young innovators will be working on developing their startup ideas for the duration of a week and will pitch their concepts in front of a panel of judges that includes Bert Kip, CEO Chemelot Campus, Frank Kuijpers, General Manager Technology at SABIC, Harry Lempens, Director of Business at Rabobank Westelijke Mijnstreek and a few of the region’s most known investors.

About the Service Boulevard

The Service Boulevard is a new product of Chemelot Campus B.V. In cooperation with DSM Resolve, CHILL, Enabling Technologies, DPI Value Centre and TI COAST, the Service Boulevard will direct companies (including SMEs), universities, schools and institutes with knowledge questions to the best fitting company at Chemelot Campus or to parties in the Service Boulevard network.

The goal is to create an easy access to Chemelot Campus, especially for SMEs in the region. The Service Boulevard offers different types of services from its office at Chemelot Campus, which will be run by business development people of the cooperating parties.

How to join the final event:

Up to 200 people will be selected to join the final pitch event on the 31st. Participants will be chosen by the Chemelot Campus team, based on availability. All people who are interested to join, need to send an e-mail to Klaas Bos at
