Session 2: Learning in small businesses, by dr. Anita van Gils,
covering topics such as Entrepreneurship and SMEs;
the process of entrepreneurial learning; organization versus team & individual learning;
growth challenges and learning
At the end of the day, the students were given their team assignment for the week:
The assignment consists in a real case handled by Wouter Visser from the consultancy firm AMI Consultancy. A construction company is facing major safety issues (many injuries among their employees, and even deaths). Students in teams are asked to propose ideas to help the company improve its safety conditions in terms of process, communication and integration in the company’s culture.
After each day’s lectures, students have time every day to work within their teams on the week’s project. On Friday morning they will have to present their ideas in front of a panel of academics and practitioners. The panel will pick a winner and the consultancy firm will show how it handled this issue in real life.
