Energy Poverty and Rural Energy Markets in Pakistan: Bilal Mirza

Dr. Bilal Mirza has been working as a PhD Researcher in Innovations Studies and Development at UNU-MERIT since 2006 on project entitled “Energy Sources, Energy Poverty and Socio-Economic Development of Rural Communities”, under the supervision of Dr. Rene Kemp (UNU-MERIT & ICIS-UM).

The research project explores the impact of the use of different energy sources in households and their role in rural socio-economic development with a keen focus on the changing energy market structure in developing countries.

Bilal’s research interests include Energy Systems, Energy Poverty, Renewable Energy Markets and Technologies, specifically in context of developing countries.
