Elsevier ranking 2010: First place in the Netherlands for SBE bachelor’s programmes

Elsevier released its yearly BSc ranking on Friday, 8 October 2010. The survey on universities and institutions of higher education is conducted amongst both peers and students in the Netherlands. This year’s ranking provided SBE with two number one spots. SBE maintained its number one spot for its BSc Econometrics and Operations research programme and secured a first place for its BSc International Business programme.


Elsevier Ranking by students:

- BSc International Business

The International Business programme was recognized for its continued focus on quality with a final score of 7.3, securing the first place. The programme scored above average on its facilities, coherence between programme elements, its educational method as well as teacher quality and examination practices.

– BSc Econometrics and Operations Research

The Econometrics and Operations Research prolonged last year’s first place ranking with an overall grade of 7.2. The programme scored best in its category for teacher’s knowledge, approachability of staff and guidance.

– BSc Economics

The Economics programme was awarded second place, with several (sub-) categories ranking well above average. The high point in this particular overview was the 7.8 scored for its Facilities.

– BSc Fiscal Economics

This year Fiscal Economics appear for the second time in the ranking. Three universities shared this year’s first spot with an average score of 7.0 while both the UvA and SBE scored a 6.9.
